About the Role
The Company is seeking a Managing Director for Policy and Strategic Engagement to join its Institute for Climate and Sustainable Growth. This key leadership role involves working closely with the Institute's executive team to develop and implement strategies that enhance the Institute's national and global visibility and reputation. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging with a wide range of external stakeholders, including policymakers, practitioners, and thought leaders, to build and maintain relationships that support the Institute's core initiatives. This includes representing the Institute in various settings, from local to international, and coordinating communication of the Institute's work with the academic community and alumni. The role also involves leading a talented team in the areas of communications and events, and overseeing a diverse fellows program. Applicants for the Managing Director position should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in a related discipline, with a preference for those who have worked in energy, climate change policy, or communications in a leadership capacity. The role requires a candidate with a strong educational background, ideally with a degree in public policy or a related field, and an advanced degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of influencing and managing teams, as well as the ability to communicate complex research to diverse audiences. Experience in public policy analysis, and a deep understanding of the political landscape, particularly in the US, are essential. The role demands a high level of professionalism, excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
