Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Trucking Dispatcher to coordinate and manage the daily operations of freight transportation. This is a 1099 independent contractor position with no benefits included. The role offers flexibility as a remote position with the expectation to report to the office in Richmond, VA as needed. Compensation is provided through weekly payouts , either as a percentage of gross revenue or a set weekly salary , depending on the agreement.

• Schedule and dispatch drivers to appropriate routes based on customer requirements, traffic, and weather conditions.
• Coordinate with drivers, shippers, and receivers to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries.
• Monitor driver locations using GPS tracking systems and provide real-time support as needed.
• Communicate effectively with customers to provide updates on shipment status and resolve any delivery issues.
• Maintain accurate records of driver logs, routes, delivery schedules, and freight documentation.
• Manage emergency situations, such as vehicle breakdowns, delays, or route changes, and provide timely solutions.
• Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
• Assist in optimizing routes for fuel efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule truck inspections and repairs.
• Track and manage driver hours to prevent violations of HOS (Hours of Service) regulations.

• High school diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelors degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience as a dispatcher in the trucking or logistics industry.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance.
• Proficient in dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Must be available to report to the office in Richmond, VA as needed.
