Job Description

This position is responsible for dispatching and resolving problems for Point Dedicated drivers. This positions requires individuals to have exceptional proactive communication skills with internal and external customers including resolving issues with timely pick-up and delivery, check calls, activity documentation, and overall promoting a professional workplace attitude in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Maintain contact with drivers throughout their shifts and report any routing issues they might have
· Evaluate driver’s hours of service and communicate issues
· Dispatch and monitor drivers daily to ensure on-time pick-up and delivery of freight and report exceptions
· Effectively communicate with the ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
· Promote safety first for all areas of dispatch and ensure drivers are following all safety policies and procedures
· Answer calls from drivers and relay any emergencies they have to the appropriate channels
· Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED with 1yr of transportation/logistics experience
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor's Degree with 1 year of relevant professional experience OR 3-5 years of experience in the Transportation/Logistics industry
· Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy
· Anticipate, recognize, and deal effectively with existing or potential conflicts at the individual, group, or situation level
· Ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
· Ability to adapt to changing environments
· Establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers
· Ability to meet or exceed team/driver needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner
Effective communication skills are a must
