Job Title: Safety Manager

Location: Chicago, IL

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Manager to oversee safety protocols and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations for a rail project in Chicago. The Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for all project personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive safety plans and programs.
• Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, FRA, and other relevant safety regulations.
• Provide safety training and education to employees, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
• Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to promote a culture of safety.
• Prepare and present safety reports to management and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management, preferably in the construction or rail industry.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and other safety regulations.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CHST) is preferred.
