Summary of Responsibilities The Recuiter is responsible for recruiting and retaining volunteer advocates to provide direct advocacy services, information, referrals and assistance with Crime Victims’ Compensation, Texas SAVNS and other direct victim services to children in the child welfare system who have been the victims of abuse and neglect and provide outreach and education. Qualifications Qualifications include but are not limited to: 1. Bachelor’s degree in social service or related field preferred, or minimum of three years professional experience in recruiting, marketing, and sales. 2. Recruiter will understand the need to participate in certain scheduled events and meetings. The work schedule is flexible to accommodate community events. Ability to present information persuasively, effectively, and convincingly to small and large groups. 3. Must have enthusiasm for knowledge and be a part of team. 4. This is a professional position, and the supervisor(s) will not dictate every facet associated with this position. The Recruiter must take initiative in developing and planning ways to bring in new volunteers. 5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with staff, clients, volunteers, and community required. 6. Duties Recruiter Job Description- Updated 2/7/2025 Page 2 of 4 Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1. Recruitment/Education/Outreach service: a. Recruitment: will creatively recruit volunteer advocates. Through in-person events, advertising, social media, inperson booths, and participate in community events. b. Education: will assist in providing knowledge and resources about child abuse and neglect to increase community awareness and knowledge. c. Outreach: will seek out and secure public speaking opportunities in Wharton, Matagorda, and Brazoria County. The Executive Director is always available to help with public speaking. The Recruiter should be able to help with developing PowerPoint presentations. The Recruiter will submit monthly reports to the Executive Director detailing work performed weekly and monthly. Key Area of Responsibility: Volunteer Recruitment - Develops volunteer opportunities and establishes annual recruiting goals in accordance with agency needs - Coordinates and implements an annual recruiting plan, targeting areas of deficiency. - Coordinates the promotion of volunteer opportunities to print, broadcast media, with the Executive Director o Develops plan to get word out to the community - Cultivates recruiting opportunities with local corporations, businesses, and community groups o Check out ways to get into the local plants and businesses o Go online and check out civic organizations to see if we can give presentations to their organizations. - Provides outreach presentations, social media-postings, public notices, news releases, and builds relationships targeted to the Recruiter Job Description- Updated 2/7/2025 Page 3 of 4 recruitment of new volunteers and help others identify crime victims who might not otherwise be reached and provide referral and intervention information directing them to needed services. - Plans ways to recruit a variety of people. - Represent CASA at volunteer recruitment opportunities. o Sets up information sessions, broadcasts them, and attends them (Facebook Live, Zoom w/CASA, Coffee w/CASA). Key Area of Responsibility: Volunteer Screening and Training - Plans annual calendar of new and on-going recruiting opportunities in keeping with Texas CASA Standards. - Schedules and assists staff in conducting volunteer interviews with volunteer advocate applicants. - Coordinates new recruits with Trainer for pre-service volunteer training. - Provides interested parties information which includes an application and background check information in a timely manner. - Keeps record of individuals who have requested volunteer information. Additional Duties - Attend conferences and meetings when appropriate. - Complete pre-service volunteer training. - Maintain annual in-service required training. The Executive Director is responsible for all final decisions concerning CASA activities and case related matters. Volunteer Supervisors will also provide input on needed volunteers. This position is responsible for the recruitment of all volunteer advocates and shares community outreach opportunities with other CASA staff members, volunteers, and community.
