The Health Promotion Disease Prevention program of the Fort Peck Tribes is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our healthcare team and provide exceptional eye care services to our community. Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive eye examinations and vision tests to assess patient vision and ocular health.
  • Diagnose and manage ocular conditions and diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy.
  • Prescribe corrective lenses based on patient assessments and preferences.
  • Educate patients about proper eye care, preventive measures, and treatment options.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care for patients with systemic conditions affecting eye health.
  • Conduct vision therapy and rehabilitation as part of treatment for various visual disorders.
  • Participate in community outreach programs to promote eye health awareness and preventative care strategies.
  • Working in a School Base Clinical Settings

Requirements

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Valid state optometrist license to practice in the state of Montana.
  • Experience in providing comprehensive optometric services in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of ocular diseases and their management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with patients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Commitment to continuing education and staying updated on advancements in optometry.
