Position Description:

The Office of Lifespan Health (OLH) is part of the Division of Family and Community Health within the Department of Health. The OLH provides a wide variety of services across the state including; family planning, prenatal and parenting education and support, infant safe sleep, adolescent mental health and suicide prevention, and improving access to health care services. This intern position will assist the OLH team with the following projects:

• Research to support policy updates, quality improvement projects, and trainings for staff.
• Reviewing and developing educational materials for the public, providers and other stakeholders.
• Aiding in building and strengthening external partnerships.

Assisting staff to gather information for the development of state and federal grant reports.

Preference will be given to students who have experience or have taken courses related to health care, public policy, public health, or nursing.

Qualifications:
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.

All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.
