The IT Manager will oversee and manage the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring efficient operation of all IT systems, networks, and hardware. This role involves managing a team of IT professionals, planning and implementing technology strategies, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring cybersecurity. The IT Manager will work closely with other departments to ensure technology systems meet business needs and are aligned with organizational goals. The IT Manager will work from the Fairfield office and requirement to be on-site. The IT Manager may be required to travel to other L&T offices in the US.
Required Experience and Knowledge:
Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or Equivalent experience
o Certification in O365 is a plus
Experience:
• Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in IT management or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, cloud computing, and security systems.
• Experience in managing IT projects and teams.
• In-depth knowledge of IT systems, databases, and software.
• Expertise in cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Project management certification (e.g., PMP, ITIL) is a plus.
• Experience with budget management and vendor negotiations.
Skills:
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Proficiency in network administration, firewalls, and security protocols.
Familiarity with business applications (ERP, CRM systems).
Certification in network security, cloud computing, or MS Application support
o Proficiency in relevant engineering tools and software.
o Strong technical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Infrastructure Management:
o Oversee the maintenance and improvement of hardware, software, and network systems.
o Manage data storage, backup, and disaster recovery systems.
o Ensure the stability, security, and performance of servers, networks, and cloud infrastructure.
Team Leadership:
o Lead and mentor the IT team, including systems administrators, network engineers, and support staff.
o Manage recruitment, training, and professional development of the IT team.
o Assign tasks and set performance objectives for team members.
Network and Security:
o Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues.
o Implement and enforce cybersecurity policies, including firewalls, VPNs, and data encryption. Should be familiar with Cisco Firewalls.
o Conduct regular security audits and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Project Management:
o Plan and execute IT projects, including system upgrades, software deployments, and infrastructure changes.
o Collaborate with other departments to understand business needs and propose technological solutions.
o Manage the implementation of new systems and applications.
o Help with IT design and implementation of newly expended space in Fairfield office.
Budgeting and Resource Management:
o Develop and manage the IT department budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
o Evaluate and recommend new technology tools, systems, and software based on business needs.
o Negotiate with vendors and manage contracts for IT services and hardware.
User Support:
o Oversee the helpdesk support team, ensuring timely and effective resolution of user issues.
o Meet SLAs and report to management team on weekly basis.
o Develop and implement IT training programs for staff on new technologies and tools.
o Ensure end-user satisfaction with IT services and solutions.
Compliance and Documentation:
o Ensure compliance with data protection laws, industry regulations, and best practices.
o Maintain comprehensive IT documentation, including network configurations, system setups, and troubleshooting guides.
Technology Strategy:
o Work with senior management to develop and implement a long-term IT strategy aligned with business objectives.
o Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
