The Role and Opportunity: We are seeking Hair Stylists specializing in hair coloring to join our growing team who will perform each service in a safe and sanitary environment in compliance with our service protocols. While not required, in addition to hair coloring our ideal candidate may also have experience with or an interest in haircuts, extensions, braids & twists, blowouts or other styling services. Our Hair Stylists will receive hourly base pay plus commission for services performed and retail sales. Additionally, this is a new role and would be perfect for someone who wants to make an immediate impact on our client experience, have access to paid training and continuing professional education, and continue to grow and expand your skillset and career.

Responsibilities:

• Provide a thorough consultation with each client before every service to analyze the condition of their hair and to understand their preferences and desired outcomes
  
• Perform a variety of hair color services for a diverse mix of clientele with various hair types and textures
  
• Wash and towel dry client’s hair and apply backbar products as necessary
  
• Blow dry and style client’s hair to their preference after each hair color service
  
• Utilize salon tools and equipment, such as shears, shampoo bowls, dryers, steamers and color processors
  
• Sanitize tools and equipment to maintain a safe and sanitary work environment
  
• Educate each client and provide recommendations on how to properly care for and style their new hair color service based on their hair type and lifestyle, and suggest products for home aftercare as necessary
  
• Engage with clients as a subject matter expert in your field while having a thorough understanding of all related products
  
• Attend required trainings and meetings with a focus on compliance of policies and procedures to ensure the salon is operating in a safe and sanitary environment
  
• Comply with and enforce salon policies and standard operating procedures
  
• Review processes and procedures to identify areas of improvement throughout the salon on an ongoing basis
  
• Participate in the daily morning and closing line-up meetings
  
• Review and update client records, including inserting proper notes in client records for future tracking
  
• Meet performance metrics and review results with the Salon Director to ensure career growth and development
  
• Collaborate with peers and develop internal and external cross functional partnerships with other service providers, vendors, Experience Coordinators and the Salon Director
  

Desired Requirements and Skills:

• Previous experience as a Hair Color Specialist, Hair Colorist or recent beauty or cosmetology school graduate
  
• Have a Cosmetologist license issued by the state of Florida that is active and in good standing
  
• Experience and the desire to work in a customer service focused role
  
• Previous experience as a Hair Stylist or recent beauty or cosmetology school graduate
  
• Familiarity with best practices for safety and sanitary protocols in a salon & spa environment
  
• Experience with Vagaro or similar salon software is a plus
  
• Ability to interact collaboratively and build cross functional relationships internally and with a customer base
  
• Experience performing in a fast-paced environment
  
• Highly organized and proactive with attention to detail and accuracy
  
• Excellent communication skills, while being flexible and performance-oriented with the ability to work independently
  
• Must be able to stand on feet and walk throughout the salon for extended periods of time
